Dr. Anita Dennison received
a B.S. in Microbiology and a B.S. in Biology, with a minor in Anatomy and Neurobiology. After completion of her D.V.M. degree, Dr. Dennison completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine, and began her residency training in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery. It was at this time in her career that she became actively interested in camelid medicine, under the teaching of Dr. Larue Johnson and Dr. Dave VanMetre. Dr. Dennison has also completed a Master’s degree in Microbiology, studying Clostridial disease and developing assays for toxin detection. She has been involved with research for over ten years.
Dr. Dennison has practiced in Colorado, Oregon and California. She co-owns Los Caballos Veterinary

Hospital, Inc. in southern California with her husband Dr. Clint Dennison. She is a mother of two toddlers, and an adjunct professor for Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine.
